Hey,
this entry combines day 4 and 5.
For my first time riding the greyhound the experience was actually not bad :) The bus had WiFi, electrical outlets and new leather seats. I started at 1am in Toronto and the bus made it's way through Ontario. The bus drove really fast, but since canada is just too big, after two days i still haven't left the one state. On the way a man was kicked out of the bus for drinking beer, which is prohibited. But thanks to the wifi i had a good time.
Later on the next morning a got to know a group of other passengers a little better. Some were going to Winnipeg, some even to Vancouver, like me. We exchanged names and one girl, adelle, misheard me saying my name and heard it as Sylvester.
So for the rest of the trip i was now known as Sylvester, which we later on identified as the black from the tweety cartoon. Another guy of the group was named Tom, so we were two cartoon cats on the bus :)
I later discovered that the greyhound isn't infact all that grey, have a look:
Yeah theres a lot of blue in there.
I tried making a couple of pictures of the beautiful landscape we passed on the bus, but since it moved so damn fast the cool place mostly passed before i could switch on my camera:
At Seven in the morning we arrive in Winnipeg where the others would have to switch busses, but i decided to make a Stop-over here and have a look at the city. The clerk at the counter asked me for my hostelling card and then gave me changed Ticket for free yay :) So for just 2,50$ i took the bus downtown, which stops directly in front of the Hostel. In direct comparison to the Toronto HI Hostel this ones not very good. But still i got a three bed room all to myself:
After i got settled and finally! showered, i set off into downtown Winnipeg, which is not all that big. At least in comparison to Toronto, but that was to be expected. It was very hot outside today, but i still walked to the river. Turns out the only thing to see there is a jogging path and rusty bridge. After that i got into the exchange district, which was lovely with some small shops. I found the most pachouli shop ever:
and a store for board games, the nerdy kind. I went to eat a Schawarma, but the meat was weirdly spiced, not my thing. I expected something like a Kebab, but that was very different.
I then got to a starbucks, plugged my laptop in and surfed a little until i almost went to sleep right there. Now i am back at the hostel in my room, after i bought some water and cookies.
Tomorrow at 10:30 i will leave for there rest of my journey.
I hope that until then my muscels have stopped aching :)

dieser Eintrag kombiniert Tag 4 und 5, weil Tag 4 nicht wirklich viel hergegeben hat :)
Dafür, dass das meine erste Reise mit dem Greyhound war, war die Erfahrung gar nicht so übel. Der Bus hatte WiFi, Steckdosen und neue Ledersitze :) Gestartet hat die Reise um 1 Uhr morgens in Toronto, ab da gings recht schnell nach Sudbury. Dort wurde dann auch direkt ein Mitfahrer wegen Alkoholkonsums rausgworfen. Bier, Wein, etc. ist nicht erlaubt.
Später am nächsten Morgen habe ich eine Gruppe meiner Mitfahrer näher kennen gelernt. Einige fuhren nur bis Winnipeg, aber andere auch, wie ich, bis nach Vancouver. Wir haben uns vorgestellt, aber ein Mädchen hat mich falsch verstanden und dachte ich würde Sylvester heißen. Also war mein Name für den Rest des Trips Sylvester.
Uns ist dann aufgefallen, dass das der Name der Katze aus dem Tweety Cartoon ist. Aber einer der andren hieß Tom, somit waren wir zwei Cartoon Katzen :)
Später ist mir dann auf gefallen das der Greyhound gar nicht so grau ist:
Ich hab unterwegs versucht Bilder von der Genialen Landschaft zu machen, aber der Bus ist so schnell gefahren, das die ganzen schönen Motive schon vorbei waren, bevor ich die Kamera überhaupt anhatte:
Heute sind wir um 7 Uhr morgens in Winnipeg angekommen, die Andren mussten den Bus wechseln, aber ich hab mir überlegt hier nen Stopover einzulegen und mir die Stadt anzugucken. Der Bedienstete am Schalter hat mich nach meiner Hostelling Karte gefragt und mir dann direkt den Stopover umsonst gegeben :D Dann hab ich für 2,50$ den Bus nach Downtown genommen und der hat mich direkt vor dem Hostel abgesetzt. Im direkten vergleich mit dem Hostel in Toronto ist das hier nicht wirklich gut, aber immerhin hab ich nen Dreibett zimmer ganz für mich allein:
Nachdem ich mich eingerichtet hatte und endlich! duschen konnte, bin ich in Richtung Downtown losgezockelt. Winnipeg ist echt klein im Vergleich zu Toronto. Nachdem ich durch eine kleine Mall gekommen bin, hab ich mir gedacht, gehste mal in Richtung Fluss. Gesagt getan, ich war am Fluss, aber außer nem Joggingweg und ner rostigen Brücke war da nicht wirklich was zu sehen:
Also wieder zurück in die Innenstadt, diesmal ins Exchange district. Das war echt schön, aber auch etwas klein. Ich hab den perfekten Laden für Daria gefunden, der hat so Stark nach Pachouli gerochen das ich quasi rückwärts wieder raus bin :D
Außerdem war da noch ein Laden für Brettspiele, die nerdigen. Sowas wie Dungeons & Dragons und Magic und so. Danach hab ich mir ein Schawarma gekauft, was ich gedacht habe wäre wie Döner. War es nicht. Der Salat und alles war sehr lecker, aber das Fleisch war ganz komisch gewürzt, schmeckt wie scharfe Schuhsole, woher auch immer ich weiß wie Schuhsole schmeckt :D Da ich danach noch net zurück wollte hab ich mich in ein Starbucks gesetzt und erstmal ein bisschen gesurft. Bin dann auch prompt fast eingeschlafen. Um das zu verhindern bin ich dann zurück zum Hostel gelaufen, hab aber vorher noch Wasser und Cookies gekauft.
Morgen um 10:30 gehts weiter :)
Hoffe das bis dahin meine Muskelkater nachgelassen hat :D
