Finals, Creepy Hospitals and 3 Birds in one

Hey,
i left off with studying for the finals and thats where im gonna start now.
The last 3 weeks of the semester i had 2 finals and one project due, so i had a lot to do :D but i managed to get pretty decent grades in all the subjects:
In AI for Games i got 65%
In Games Dev i got 73%
and in Mobile Dev i got 82%.
Since i've never shown you where i had class and my fellow students, here are some pics:

On one saturday i went drinking with Vivian and her canadian friends, it was a goodbye party for her, since she would be leaving that tuesday. I arrived 5 minutes early, ordered a beer and waited. 4 beers and about one and a half hours later, the group arrived. They wer running late because first Vivian lost her phone and then they missed the Skytrain station they had to get off at. At least i could read on my phone, otherwise it would've made for a boring one and a half hours. But after that it turned out to be a great night :)
The Project presentation went great, here are some screenshots of our game. Since our artist left us before he gave us the artwork, we had to take everything from the internet:

On the last friday i went to see "The Hobbit 2" with my project group, that is a great movie, i can really recommend watching it :)

That saturday i rented a car to visit all the shooting locations of supernatural, since i was a bit late and sundown was at about 4 i couldnt visit a lot on the first day:

On sunday i got up really early and set off with the rental car to visit some more locations:

Since i only had the car to 2pm i couldn't visit every location, so i will have to come back in february.

The following tuesday i had to get up at 4 to make the greyhound to calgary. The first 4 hours i got some sleep and then we drove through the rockies, which were full of snow. It was very beautiful, but i couldnt take any pictures, because the bus moved too fast.
I arrived in Calgary about an hour late, because the bus had some trouble moving through the snow in the rockies. Willard picked me up and we drove to his place.

 The next days we drove around town and visited Monica and Doug. Because the key for Pams truck wouldn't fit anymore we drove her home, only to realize, that most of her cows got out of the pen, because there was a snowbank over the fence. So Pam called Zane, a boy who takes care of the cows sometime, to get them back in and remove the snowbank. On Saturday the whole family came over for a early christmas dinner. That was a lot of fun :) Jes and Mackenzie said they wanted to go drinking that evening, but because it was so cold and the road conditions werent so good, they decided not to go. On Sunday Willard and Michele went to the airport and left for Italy, were they will stay until january 2nd.
I stayed at willards place until Pam picked me up on tuesday. On monday Doug picked me up and we went to calgary to get a quote for car rentals and look around some shops.

Pam picked me up on tuesday and we went to her place where we were later joined by Barry and Ken.

On Christmas morning Jes and Nick came over as well and we very delicious turducken for dinner :D

beim letzten mal hatte ich damit aufgehört, dass ich für die Klausuren lernen musste udn damit werde ich jetzt weiter machen.
In den letzten 3 Wochen des Semesters hatte ich 2 Klausuren und eine Projektpräsentation, also war einiges zu tun. Aber ich denke ich habe mich ganz gut geschlagen :)
in Künstliche Intelligenz (das schwerste Fach) habe ich 65% erreicht, in Games Development 73% und in Mobile Dev 82%.
Da ich euch bisher noch keine Bilde vom Vorlesungsraum und meinen Kommolitonen gezeigt habe, kommen hier mal ein paar:

An einem Samstag bin ich mit Vivian und ihren kanadischen Freunden einen trinken gegangen. Es war quasi eine Abschiedsparty für Vivian, da sie am folgenden Dienstag nach hause flog. Ich war 5 minuten zu früh da und habe mir direkt mal ein Bier bestellt und gewartet. Nach 4 Bier und ungefähr anderhalb Stunden Wartezeit sind die anderen dann endlich eingetroffen. Sie waren zu spät, weil Vivian zuerst ihr Handy verloren hat und sie dann auch noch die Skytrainstation verpasst haben. Zum Glück konnte ich auf meinem Handy lesen, sonst wäre das ziemlich langweilig gewesen. Aber danach war es ein klasse Abend :D

Die Projektpräsentation ist super gelaufen, hier sind mal ein paar Screenshots von unserem Spiel. Da unser Designer abgesprungen ist, bevor er uns seine Arbeit geben konnte, mussten wir uns alles aus dem Internet holen:

Am letzten Freitag bin ich mit meiner Projektgruppe in "Der Hobbit 2" gegangen. Ein klasse Film, kann ich nur empfehlen.

Samstag habe ich dann ein Auto gemietet um mir die Drehorte von Supernatural anzugucken, da ich aber ein bisschen spät dran war, hatte ich nicht so viel Sonnenlicht. Somit konnte ich nicht so viele locations besuchen:

Aber dafür bin ich am Sonntag ganz früh aufgestanden und habe mir noch mehr angeguckt:

Ich habe aber immer noch nicht alle Drehorte gesehen, die ich mir angucken wollte, also muss ich nochmal im Februar gucken.
Am darauf folgenden Dienstag musste ich schon um 4 Uhr morgens aufstehen um rechtzeitig zum Greyhound zu kommen. Die ersten 4 Stunden der Fahrt habe ich erstmal Schlaf nachgeholt. Doch dann sind wir durch die Rockies gefahren und das konnte ich mir ja nicht entgehen lassen :D Die Rockies waren echt klasse und total schneebedeckt, aber ich konnte keine Fotos machen, da der Bus einfach zu schnell gefahren ist.
Ich bin ungefähr ne Stunde zu spät in Calgary angekommen, da der Bus Probleme hatte, bei all dem Schnee voran zu kommen. Willard hat mich vom Greyhound abgeholt und wir sind zu ihm gefahren.

Die Tage danach sind wir durch die Gegend gefahren und haben Monica und Doug besucht. Da der Schlüssel von Pams Truck nicht ins Schloss passen wollte, haben wir sie nach Hause gefahren. Nur um da festzustellen, das fast alle ihrer Kühe über den Zaun gegangen waren. Eine Schneebank direkt am Zaun war schuld da dran. Also hat Pam Zane angerufen, ein Typ, der sich manchmal um die Kühe kümmert, er hat die Kühe dann zurück auf die Weide gebracht und die Schneewehe weggeschaufelt.
Am Samstag ist dann die ganze Familie zu einem frühen Weihnachtsessen zu Willard gekommen. Jes und Mackenzie wollten abends noch einen Trinken gehen, da es aber so derbe kalt war und die Straßenbedingungen nicht ideal waren, haben sie das verschoben. Sonntag sind Willard und Michele dann Richtung Italien aufgebrochen und ich war bis Dienstag alleine in Willards Haus. Am Montag hat Doug mich aufgegabelt und wir sind nach Calgary gefahren um mal zu gucken, wie viel ein Mietwagen kostet und haben in ein paar Shops reingeguckt.

Pam hat mich am Dienstag abgeholt und wir sind zu ihr nach Hause gefahren, wo nachher auch Barry und Ken angekommen sind.

Am Weihnachtsmorgen sind dann auch Jes und Nick zu uns gestoßen und wir hatten abends einen super leckeren Turducken zum Essen :D

Diving, Hellboy and a broken tooth

its been a long time since my last post, but i don't have to much to tell, since i'm mostly busy with university.
Ok, so i left off with me going to go diving.
On Saturday, way too early in the morning i went to the diving school in Burnaby. There some of the Germans including Vivian met up with the vice president of BCIT. We got a short introduction of the gear and what we're gonna do the next 2 days by the diving instructors. After that we were all driven to the SFU pool, where we were given the gear and had some basic diving training. That included how to work the gear such as the flotation device or the oxygen nozzle. We learned the basic sign language that is used under water and how to move efficiently under water. After we learned everything we spend some time under water practicing and throwing torpedoes around, which is more difficult than it sound BTW :D
On that evening i went to a Halloween club crawl with Sophie and two of her friends: Elly and Paolo.
I went as Hellboy and Sophie as the Devil and non we didnt coordinate that :D

I couldn't stay that long, because the next day i would be going diving again very early. But i quite enjoyed talking to Elly who's a German-Brasilian girl who studies in England. I hope i can meet her again ;)

The next day i had to get up even earlier than the day before and again met up with the group at the diving school where we fitted the dry-suit and the rest of the additional gear. From there we drove to Portau Cove which is a beautiful diving spot about an hour away from Vancouver. Arriving there we all put on our gear, which took a long time, due to multiple layers of clothes, especially socks. Then we went into the water and immediately my feet and face were really really cold but that wasn't too bad. The bad thing was that when i went under water i couldn't equalize my ears. It hurt a lot and i panicked, because i couldn't see anyone, so i went straight back up again. I got out of the water and tried to get the water out of my ears, but couldn't. Not wanting to try that again, i just went snorkeling around the beach.

So i didn't get the whole diving experience but at least  i had fun in the pool the day before.  But after a couple of days my left ear began to hurt, so i went to the BCIT doctor and she told me that that was the beginning of an infection and gave me antibiotics for free, so yay me :D
Other than that i went to the cinema a couple of times and i can really recommend Thor 2 and Last Vegas.
On Thursday last week i broke one of my back-teeth in half. No idea how i did that but it was one of the dead ones with only a provisional filling. On Sunday i got it pulled out and when i'm back home i'm going to get an implant. So not all is lost, but it feels kind of weird with the gap in my teeth.
The last few weeks i had to do a lot of assignments and had to learn for a final. So i didn't have too much time for anything else, hence i have no photos to show you. I still have to visit the shooting spots of my favorite TV show and a bunch of other stuff.
On December 17 i will take the greyhound to Calgary to visit the friends there for the holidays and in January i'm planning to got to Hawaii for at least a week depending on my funds :D
so yeah that's it so far, expect more in the following weeks :D

mein letzter Post ist ja schon wieder was länger her, da ich viel für die Uni zu tun hatte.
Ok ich hatte damit aufgehört, dass ich tauchen gehen wollte:
Viel zu früh für einen Samstag morgen bin ich nach Brunaby zur Tausch Schule aufgebrochen, wo ich mich mit einem Teil der Deutschen inkl. Vivian und dem Vize Presidenten vom BCIT getroffen habe. Wir haben eine kurze Einführung für die Ausrüstung und was wir die nächsten 2 Tage machen würden, bekommen. Danach gings dann zum Pool der SFU, wo wir unser Tauchgerät und ein kurzes Training in dessen Nutzung bekommen haben. Uns wurde gezeigt wie wir das Schwimmkissen und den Sauerstofftank benutzen und uns wurden die elementaren Handzeichen fürs Tauchen beigebracht. Nachdem wir das gelernt hatten, sind wir noch im Pool geblieben und haben das Gezeigte geübt und uns Torpedos zugeworfen. Das klingt einfacher als es ist ;D
Am Abend bin ich dann mit Sophie und zwei ihrer Freunde: Elly und Paolo auf einen Halloween club crawl gegangen. Ich hatte mich als Hellboy verkleidet und Sophie als Teufel und nein, wir haben uns net abgesprochen :D

Ich konnte aber nicht so lange bleiben, da es am nächsten morgen wieder sehr früh zum Tauchen ging. Aber ich hab mich echt gut mit Elly unterhalten, sie ist eine deutsch-brasilianrin die in England studiert. Ich hoffe, dass ich sie nochmal treffen kann ;)
Am nächsten Tag gings dann noch früher raus als am Samstag und wieder zur Tauchschule, wo wir dann die Trockenanzüge anprobiert haben. Von da aus gings mit dem Auto ne Stunde nach Portau Cove, ein wunderschöner Tauchplatz habe ich mir sagen lassen. Dort angekommen haben wir dann unsere gesamte Ausrüstung angelegt, was echt lange gedauert hat, da man viele Schichten anziehen muss, speziell Socken :D
Dann sind wir ins Wasser gegangen und mir ist sofort aufgefallen, das meine Füße und mein Gesicht derbe kalt wurden, das Wasser war ja auch nur 8 grad warm. Das schlimme war aber, das ich den Druck in meinen Ohren nicht ausgleichen konnte als wir untergetaucht sind. Das hat nach 2 metern derbe weh getan und ich habe Panik bekommen, weil ich niemanden sehen konnte. Also bin ich direkt wieder an die Oberfläche gestingen und aus dem Wasser raus. Ich konnte dann aber das Wasser nicht aus meinen Ohren bekommen, also hab ich danach nur an der Küste entlang geschnorchelt.

Ich habe also nicht die ganze Taucherfahrung gehabt, aber zumindest am Samstag hatte ich spaß. Nach ein paar Tagen hat mein linkes Ohr angefangen weh zu tun, also bin ich zum BCIT Arzt und die sagte mir, das das der Anfang einer Ohrenentzündung ist und gab mir Antibiotica um sonst, yay :D
Die folgenden Wochen war ich ein paar mal im Kino und kann euch Thor 2 und Last Vegas sehr empfehlen.
Letzte Woche Donnerstag hab ich es dann geschafft einen meiner Backenzähne in der Mitte durchzu beissen. Keine Ahnung wie ich das gemacht habe, aber er musste raus. Also bin ich am Sonntag zum Zahnarzt und hab ihn ziehen lassen. Wenn ich wieder zuhause bin, bekomm ich ein Implantat und alles ist gut. Aber die Lücke fühlt sich schon verdammt komisch an.
Die letzten paar Wochen musste ich einige Assignments machen und für einen Final lernen und hab deswegen nicht viel gemacht, aber ich will hier noch die Drehorte von Supernatural besuchen und noch so einiges anderes machen.
Am 17. Dezember werde ich mit dem Greyhound rüber nach Alberta fahren und mit den Kanadiern Weihnachten verbringen und im Januar hab ich vor mindestens eine Woche in Hawaii zu verbringen, aber das hängt vom Geld ab :D
Ok das wars erstmal, aber in den nächsten Wochen kommt bestimmt noch was :D

Karaoke, Two Turkeys and really cold River

Hey guys,
after almost a month of silence, here i am again loud and clear :D
I left when the girls and i went for karaoke night, which was a lot of fun. But i discovered that i can not for the life of me hold a note :D There is a video of me singing, but i'm gonna spare you the pain. The evening was a lot of fun, but we couldn't get Vivian to sing with us.

The next week it was time to drive to Strathmore for thanksgiving. That was a long trip, 14 hours through the night and i didn't even get that much sleep, because i couldn't stretch out at all.
In Calgary Pam picked me up from the Greyhound station and we decided to get something to eat. From there we drove to their fields, where we looked for their cows and horses and how they were doing. The horses came to greet us and a few of them checked the back of the truck for treats ;)
After they realized, there weren't any, they got disinterested and most of the walked away, so we drove to another field. Since it was so muddy we didn't drive up to the other cows and just checked with the binoculars if they were doing ok.

We then drove to Pams house, where we got to rest up a little bit. Later that day Barrys daughter Whitney, Tori and Amanda came back and had a look at the horses.
In the Afternoon we went to Willards house to meet the whole family. There i got to meet Michele, her daughter and Husband and Jess and Nick. We made plans for the next days and then went back to pams place.
That night the girls went to the city and left their dog with us, the dog wasn't used to being without them, so he was wincing the whole time. After a while, Pam and i had to put on earplugs just to stand it.
The next day we went back to Willards house for Thanksgiving dinner/lunch, that was really awesome. My first Turkey ever and it was delicious :) i filled up pretty good and then there was pumpkin pie as well, of course i had to try it ;) We sat in the living room and talked for a while, but then Jess had to leave because she and her boyfriend were going to Seattle that day.
After that the round pretty much broke up and we went back home. There the girls had cooked another turkey dinner for Whitneys mom. So my first thanksgiving was 2 turkey dinners on the same day :D

On Monday we went to Heritage Park, a park full of Canadian history:

It was pretty nice, the weather was good, if a bit cold for my taste.
After we'd seen everything we went to a really big mall near Strathmore, where we met up with Monica, Doug and Mackenzie. In the mall there was really big outdoor store called bass pro, where you could get everything from boats over camouflage to weapons. And in a winners there i found a really good winter coat from Billabong for cheap. Since i had to take the bus back at 7pm, we couldn't stay too long, but it was fun. In December i will come back and stay there for a bit :)

The next week i went to Seattle with Sophie and her boyfriend, first we went to the outlet mall there, where i got a lot of cheap stuff :) and after 3 hours drove them to the airport, since they would be flying to hawaii for a week. The drive back was hard, since i was tired, it was 1 am and there was a lot of fog around. But i made it and at 3am i was finally at home and in my bed ;)

On Friday i went to my first football game of the BC lions with Vivian, her boyfriend and Bastian, the atmosphere was amazing, i can understand why people want to watch those games live. After a while i really started rooting for the lions.

After the game i went for a beer with Vivian and her boyfriend to the same bar were we did karaoke the last time.

That weekend i finally got my new Tablet :) now i can do all the assignments on it, because it will replace my old laptop:

Monday i wanted to do something in the fresh air, so i walked through deer lake park:

It was nice, but i didn't get the true feeling of being in nature, because it was so close to the surrounding city. Still walking through it did me good :D

On Tuesday, Vivian, her boyfriend and i went water rafting in Squamish. It was amazing, we two awesome guides who knew a ton about nearly everything there:

For lunch we went to a beach there, where the guides made us a sandwich buffet. It was so warm that i went barefoot an in t-shirt. After lunch i even went skinny dipping in the river :D that was soooo cold but refreshing.

Before we arrived at the end of the river we got to see an awesome cave in the mountains:

The last 10 minutes were really hard on the arms, because the wind picked up and we had no current working for us, so we had to paddle against the wind for 10 minutes. I was glad when we finally reached the shore and a bit exhausted, but it was awesome.

For Halloween i'm going as Hellboy, i bought a costume and the hand online, but the hand still didnt arrive, so i hope it will arrive tomorrow so my costume is complete.
Yesterday i went to the Roxy with Bastian which was awesome, the Roxy really is my favorite club in all of Vancouver :D Before we even went in a group of asian girls approached us and asked to take a picture with us, mind you we weren't wearing our costumes. We stayed there until 3 am and on our way back we met 2 asian girls in Thor and Loki costumes and talked with them for about an hour, after which they left and Bastian and i each took a taxi home. That was it so far, but this weekend i'm going diving, so expect some stories there :)

ok hab mir mit der Übersetzung etwas lange Zeit gelassen ;D
Ich hatte aufhört als ich mit den Mädels Karaoke singen war, das war echt lustig. Aber ich musste feststellen, das ich nichtmal ne Note halten könnte wenn mein Leben davon abhinge :D Ich hab ein Video von meinem Gesangsversuch, aber ich werde euch die Schmerzen ersparen. Wir haben nur leider Vivian nicht zum singen bekommen.

In der folgenden woche bin ich für Thanksgivng nach Strathmore gefahren. Das war ein echt langer Trip: 14 Stunden durch die Nacht und ich habe nichtmal sonderlich viel Schlaf bekommen, weil es im Bus echt eng war.
In Calagary hat mich dann Pam abgeholt und wir sind was essen gefahren. Von dort aus sind wir zu ihren Feldern gefahren um nach den Kühen und Pferden zu sehen. Die Pferde sind uns begrüßen gekommen und haben auf der Lafefläche des pickups nach Snacks gesucht. Als sie keine gefunden hatten, sind sie wieder langsam davongedackelt. Da das andere Feld zu matschig war, haben wir die anderen Kühe nur durchs Fernglas beobachtet.

Wir sind dann zu Pam nach Hause gefahren und haben uns ein bissl ausgeruht. Später ist dann Barrys tocher Whitney und Ihre Freundinnen Tori und Amanda aus der Stadt wieder gekommen. Am Nachmittag sind Pam und ich dann zu Willards neuem Haus gefahren um die ganze Family zu treffen. Dort hab ich dann Michele, ihre Tochter Natalia, ihren Mann Ken und Jess und Nick (Pams Kinder) kennen gelernt. Wir haben dann Pläne für die nächsten Tage geschmiedet und sind zurück zu Pam gefahren.
An diesem Abend sind die Mädels in die Stadt gefahren und haben ihren Hund bei uns gelassen. Der war es nicht gewohnt ohne seine Frauchen zu sein und hat die ganze nacht gewinselt und gebellt. Nach ner weile mussten Pam und ich dann Ohrstöpsel reintun um es noch auszuhalten.
Am nächsten Tag sind wir wieder zu Willard gefahren und hatten Thanksgiving dinner/lunch, das war genial. Das war mein erster Truthahn und er war super lecker :) es gab Kartoffel Püree, Erbsen und Kürbiskuchen. Danach saßen wir noch im Wohnzimmer und haben uns unterhalten. Aber dann musste Jess weg, weil sie mit ihrem Freund nach Seattle fahren wollte. Pam und ich sind dann auch wieder zurück gefahren. Die Mädels hatten für Whitneys Mutter dann nochmal einen Truthahn gemacht und so hatte ich 2 mal Truthan an einem Tag :D

Am Montag sind wir dann zum Heritage Park gefahren, wo die Canadische geschichte gezeigt wurde:

Das war echt cool und das Wetter war klasse, wenn auch etwas kühl anfangs.
Nachdem wir dort alles gesehen hatten, sind wir zu einer echt riesigen Mall in der nähe von Strathmore gefahren. In der Mall war dann noch ein verdammt großer Outdoorstore der alles verkauft hat von Camouflage klamotten bis hin zu Waffen. In einem Winners habe ich dann einen Winterparker von Billabong für recht wenig Geld bekommen. Da ich um 7 uhr Abends meinen Bus zurück nehmen musste, sind wir dann auch recht früh wieder aufgebrochen.

In der Folgenden Woche bin ich mit Sophie und ihrem Freund nach Seattle zur Outlet Mall gefahren. Da wir erst relativ spät loskonnten, hatten wir in der Mall nur 3 Stunden zeit. Danach sind wir was essen gegangen und ich habe die beiden zuum Flughafen gefahren, da sie nach Hawaii fliegen wollten. Die Rückfahrt war echt hart, da es 3 Uhr morgens war und alles voller Nebel war.

Am Freitag bin ich dann zu meinem ersten Football Spiel mit Vivian, ihrem Freund und Bastian. Die Atmosphäre war der Hammer, ich kann verstehen warum Leute diese Spiele Live gucken wollen.

An dem Wochenende habe ich dann endlich mein neues Tablet bekommen :D Endlich kann ich alle meine Assignments unterwegs machen, da das Tablet meinen Laptop ersetzen wird:

Am Montag wollte ich dann mal ein bisschen frische Luft schnappen, also bin ich durch den Deer Lake Park gelaufen:

Das war schön, aber ich hatte nicht so ganz das gefühl in der Natur zu sein, weil die Stadt so nah war. Aber das Laufen hat mir Trotzdem gut getan :D

Am Dienstag bin ich mit Vivan und ihrem Freund zum rafting nach Squamisch gefahren. Das war genial, wir hatten 2 super Guides, die echt viel über alles mögliche dort wussten:

Wir sind sogar durch eien Gruppe von springenden Lachsen gepaddelt:

Zum Mittagessen sind wir an einen Strand gepaddelt und die Guides haben ein Sandwich buffet aufgebaut. Es war so warm, das ich die ganze Zeit in Barfuss und i, Tshirt rumgelaufen bin. Nach dem Essen bin ich dann sogar kurz nackt in den Fluss gesprungen :D

Bevor wir am ende des Flusses waren haben die Guides uns noch eine coole Höhle gezeigt.

Die letzten 10 minuten waren echt anstrengend, da wir starken Gegenwind hatten und keine Strömung mehr die uns helfen konnte. Durm war ich froh als wir dann endlich am Ufer waren. Ich war ausgelaugt aber es war genial.

Für Halloween hab ich ein Hellboy Kostüm gekauft, aber die Hand ist noch nicht angekommen, aber ich hoffe die kommt bald.
Gestern bin ich mit Bastian ins Roxy gegangen. Das war der Hammer, fast alle waren verkleidet und die Stimmung war super. Das Roxy ist mein Lieblingsclub in Vancouver. Da sind wir bis bis 3 uhr geblieben. Auf dem Rückweg haben wir 2 asiatische Mädels in Thor und Loki kostümen getroffen und uns recht lange unterhalten. Danach haben Bastian und ich dann jeder ein Taxi nach hause genommen, da keine Busse mehr fuhren.
Ok das wars erstmal, bald gibts mehr, da ich dieses Wochenende Tauchen gehe.
